WHAT I LEARNT
I learnt how publishing relates to the fashion business, and how to satisfy readers/magazine consumers in a publishing environment.
From this placement I learnt how flexible you have to be and how everything does not always go to plan. Good teamwork, and the need for flexibility and adaptability, especially in understanding and appreciating the roles of other team members, was critical. I constantly had to provide solutions for clients when styling, as we had a short time frame to work in and clients often would need to try on several different outfits. I learnt about how far in advance the publishing industry works and how meeting print deadlines is essential. I realised the importance of negotiation skills in ensuring continuing good relationships with companies.
